Is it the way the vocal layers of ‘Dirty Sneakers’ wrap around your skull? Is it the fact that once you put this disc on, you can’t help but turn it up and completely rock out?
Whatever it is, it’s managed to get the band more hype after releasing one EP than most bands manage in a lifetime. That EP is called Victims, and since it’s release in March 2007, has been met with rave reviews across the country. With comparisons to Shihad, The Butterfly Effect and Karnivool, the future is bright for this Melbourne 4-piece.Fronted by lead singer, James Brown (no, not that one), Vanden play with passion and intensity, but don’t let that get in the way of a good time. The tracks on Victims don’t suffer from the massive overblown ego saturation that infects many of Vanden’s peers, and this is even more apparent at a Vanden gig. No guys wearing girls jeans here... |
